Youth Entrepreneur Program Ads4Next to Empower Local High School Students to Save for College

– Today, Ads4Next, a social enterprise thatempowers next-generation leaders to earn and save for college, will launch thenew Ads4Next.com. Through a $200,000grant from Citi Community Development, the site will use prize-linked advertising andyouth entrepreneur training to fund college savings accounts. The websitelaunch event will take place at 4:00 p.m. at Abilene Christian University inthe Living Room located in the McGlothlin Campus Center and will also mark thefirst anniversary of Ads4Next. Ads4Next.com isan online billboard that connects local small businesses with potentialcustomers by offering daily prizes when site visitors view ads sold by Ads4Nextprogram participants. The program worksby training students in sales and marketing, skills vital to successfulentrepreneurs and business leaders, and providing real-world experience sellingadvertising to local businesses. {{more}} As students sellads, they receive credits to their College Empowerment Accounts. They are theneligible to receive dollar-for-dollar matches, up to a total of $5,000, uponsuccessful completion of the program. Students can withdraw savings to pay foreducation-related expenses such as tuition and fees, books, room and board,meals, and technology. “The Ads4Nextexperience is not only good for youth earning their way to college, it alsobenefits the local economy because it provides businesses an affordable way touse online advertising to generate revenue,” says Kris Dawson of Ads4Next.
