Texas High School Rodeo State Finals Gallops into Abilene

ABILENE, Texas – The Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau welcomes the Texas High School Rodeo State Finals for the 24th consecutive year at the Taylor County Expo Center in the Display Building June 9-15. The Texas High School Rodeo Finals bring in 1,800 people staying an average of 7 days and generates $1.4 million into Abilene’s economy each year. “We are so thrilled to host the state finals again and are happy to announce we will host this awesome group for three more years,” Hester Woods, Convention Services Director for the ACVB said. “The relationship Abilene has developed with the Texas High School Rodeo Association is strong and we are so happy they have awarded The Taylor County Expo Center this event until 2016. We know they love Abilene and we are happy to have them back.” {{more}} At 11:30 on Monday, June 10, the Abilene Restaurant Association, Redcoats and Convention and Visitors Bureau volunteers will feed 1,200 visitors a barbecue lunch to show appreciation to the loyal contestants and their families. “The Expo Center Board of Directors and staff are pleased to host the Texas High School Rodeo finals for over two decades. We are proud to bring the finest group of rodeo cowboys to Abilene and Taylor County. They are a joy to work with.” The Grand Entry kicks off Sunday, June 9, 6:30 p.m. and competition ends on Saturday, June 15th. Ticket prices are $7 adults and $4 students. Ticket prices for the finals are $8 adults and $5 students.
