The Alzheimer’s Association-North Central Texas Chapter presents the 7th Annual Steppin’ Out for Memories Dinner, Dance and Auction, Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the Display Building at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene. Dr. Virginia Boyd Connally will be honored for her outstanding community work, and Dr. Carl Trusler and wife, Dr. Jaynne Middleton, will serve as honorary co-chairs of the event. The western themed event will begin with a beef and chicken fajita dinner provided by Sharon’s Catering. You will enjoy dancing to the music of Jake Hooker and the Outsiders, one of the best dance bands in Texas. Many items will be available to bid on in the silent auction as well as the live auction, including art, sporting mementos, restaurant and hotel certificates and much, much more. Rolando Diaz, renowned artist, will once again attend the event to paint during the evening. Individual tickets are $65 each. Mrs. Connally, regional director of the Alzheimer’s Association, said “put on your boots and jeans, and join us for this year’s party.” Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States with more than five million Americans living with the disease. One in three seniors dies with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia. Alzheimer’s disease is a dreadful disease for which there is no cure. The Alzheimer’s Association-North Central Texas Chapter provides programs and services for Alzheimer families in the Big Country. All money raised at Steppin’ Out for Memories will be used to provide those services.
