New HSU Administrator Passionate about Providing Structure for Student Development and Success

Dr. Dave Rozeboom brings his passion for student success toHardin-Simmons University with the beginning of the 2013 spring semester. HSUpresident, Dr. Lanny Hall, announced the appointment of Dr. Rozeboom today asthe new vice president for student development. Rozeboom has served in higher education for 16 years, including work instudent affairs at Baylor University, Waco, Texas, and St. Edward’s University,Austin, Texas. He has a strong background in teaching, including high school,undergraduate, and graduate programs. His undergraduate course teaching hasincluded such focus areas as servant leadership and organizational culture.{{more}}Graduate course teaching includes leadership and administration, studentservices, and organizational behavior. He has also taught in the Master ofCounseling and Student Development program at St. Edwards. Rozeboom served as a math teacher and coach at Unity Christian HighSchool in Hudsonville, Michigan; and as a residence hall director at CalvinCollege, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Ashland University, Ashland, Ohio. He alsoserved as Browning Community Coordinator at Baylor University and assistantdirector for resident learning at Baylor. He earned his Ph.D. in educational administration from Texas A&MUniversity in 2008; earned a Master of Arts in higher education/highereducation administration from the University of Akron, Akron, Ohio; and hisB.A. at Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Rozeboom, his wife Deena, and four children are moving to Abilene fromKyle, Texas, where he is an active layman in his church, The Fellowship at PlumCreek. The church is a Baptist congregation under the leadership of PastorJonathan Leftwich, a graduate of HSU’s Logsdon Seminary.
