Lubbock Veterans Entrepreneurship Boot Camp to provide a Boost to Veterans Interested in “Jump Starting” their Businesses

Veterans interested in starting or growing a business, will get a unique opportunity to “jump start” their business y attending a free Lubbock Veterans Entrepreneurship Boot Camp on June 13, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Science Spectrum in Lubbock Texas. This unique boot camp is sponsored by Momentum Texas Inc , a statewide nonprofit based in Dallas, the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Tech University Military and Veterans Business Programs, the Veterans Resource Coordination Group and the Center for Global Understanding. Veterans attending the workshop will be welcome by Carolyn Thompson-Conwright of the LISD who is a member of the Momentum Texas Board of Directors. {{more}} The Greater Lubbock Entrepreneurship Boot Camp will focus on the fundamentals of management, marketing and money for start-ups and established businesses. The presenters will include a MTI Team working in tandem with experts in Greater Lubbock area who are dedicated to helping veterans successfully start and grow their businesses. The three person MTI team includes Jerry Hosek, Owner East Texas Cattle Company, Tarsha Polk, 9aka) The Marketing Lady, who was a Super Bowl marketing contractor, and Jim Reid, President of Momentum Texas Inc., and who was named by the SBA as the National 2011 Small Business Champion of the Year. The Greater Lubbock Team includes, James Wilhelm, Director of the Texas Tech University Small Business Development Center , and Calvin Davis, District Director, and Reynald Lops Deputy Director of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s West Texas District. The boot camp will be held in collaboration with the SBA, the SBDC, the Texas Veterans Commission, Texas Tech University Enrollment, Management, and Student Affairs, the Procurement Technical Assistance Center, the Workforce Solutions of the South Plains and the Veterans Administration. This free Veteran Entrepreneurship Boot Camp will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Science Spectrum, 2579 South Loop 289, Lubbock, TX 79423.
