Enjoy and remember, use “just a pinch”… “A cheese lover’s dream!” ~ Anthony Nicometti, Cheektowaga, NY {{more}} Colby-Jack Cheese Bread WHAT YOU NEED Bread 2 packages active dry yeast 3/4 c water, warm 3 c shredded colby jack cheese 3/4 c Parmesan cheese 2 c milk 3 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp butter, melted 2 tsp salt 3 c flour, plus extra 1 egg white Topping 1/2 c shredded colby jack cheese 1 clove garlic, minced 1/2 tsp sesame seeds 1/4 tsp paprika 1/4 tsp celery seed Directions • In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. • Add the cheeses, milk, sugar, butter, salt and flour. Beat by hand or mixer, about 3 minutes. Stir in enough remaining flour to make a firm dough. DO NOT KNEAD! Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1-2 hours. • Punch dough down, divide, and transfer to two greased loaf pans. Cover and let rise until doubled about 30 minutes. • In a small bowl combine egg white and 1 tbsp water. In another bowl combine topping ingredients. • Brush loaves with egg white-water mixture, and sprinkle with topping. • Bake at 375F for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
