Female Veterans Benefit and Networking Fair, Part of Abilene’s Big Day Downtown

The Military Partnership of West Central Texas is hosting a Female Veterans Networking and Benefit Fair as part of the Abilene B!G Day Downtown spring festival on Saturday, April 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All females who have served or are serving in the military are encouraged to attend. Key workers will be on hand to answer questions about a wide variety of female veteran benefits and services, employment opportunities, educational information, and so much more! The Female Veterans Benefit and Networking Fair will be held at the Roberts’ Building, 202 Cypress Street . Admission is free. Along with the benefits fair, the Women’s Air Service Pilots will have a display and participating female veterans will be eligible for door prizes. The Military Partnership for West Central Texas is a partner organization, facilitated by 2-1-1 Texas A Call for Help department of the United Way of Abilene. The Partners are committed to improving service access and the development of services to address the needs of military families in West Central Texas. Membership is open to all agencies that want to participate and are currently providing service to a military population. {{more}} The mission of the Military Partnership for West Central Texas is to ensure that each agency represented understands the services provided by other agencies. Members strive to reduce duplication of effort and provide a more effective flow of information, referral, and advocacy for the target population, which includes veterans of every service/era, along with active duty military, Texas National Guard, and Reserve forces, as well as their immediate family members. The following are currently scheduled to participate in the Benefits Fair: Betty Hardwick Center Veterans Peer Support Group; Department of Veterans Affairs; Fortis College Online; McMurry University; River Crest Hospital, San Angelo; Specialized Female Veterans Information & Referral; Survivor Outreach Services; Taylor County Vet Center/Mobile Vet Center; Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene; Texas Veterans Commission/Benefits Counseling; Texas Veterans Commission/Employment Services; Texas Veterans Leadership Program, VFW Post 12117; WASP Museum; West Texas VA HCS; West Texas VA Health Care System; Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas.
