Esteller E. McCreary, 94, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2009.“It is not the length of life, but the depth of life.” Ralph Waldo EmersonMrs. McCreary, daughter of Frank and Mary Enox, was born in Ladonia, Fannin County, Texas, July 20, 1915. Esteller Enox and Curtis King joined in holy matrimony in 1933. From that union, two children were born, Peggy and Billy. Esteller and Curtis moved to Breckenridge, Texas in the early 40’s, where she was a faithful member of Williamson Chapel C.M.E. Church, serving on the Usher Board and the Stewardess Board until she moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1957. In Amarillo she joined the Carter Chapel C.M.E. Church where she was a faithful member of the Stewardess Board and the Missionary Society. In 1957, she and Floyd McCreary were joined in holy matrimony, and remained a loving couple until his passing. In 2004, she moved from Amarillo to Abilene, Texas to be close to her son and his wife. Esteller was preceded in death by her father and mother, Frank and Mary Enox and stepmother, Beatric Enox: brother, R.L. Enox; daughter, Peggy J. Hall: grandson, Curtis R. Hall; husband, Floyd McCreary; sister, Helen Enox; brother, James Enox; and sister, Lula B. Enox. She leaves behind, her son, Billy C. King and his wife Melva; 5 grandchildren, 10 great-children, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
