A New Face of Unity
The Unity Spiritual Service Center at 2842 Barrow Street in Abilene is now hosting a new Minister. Janet Ellis, who actually lives in Arlington Texas, and she comes to Abilene on the last two Sundays of every month to serve and inspire the congregation of the Unity Center, for their weekly Sunday service. [[more]] Reverend Ellis, whom I had the pleasure of meeting at the Woman’s March in January, has been an ordained Interfaith Minister since 2009. She has also been certified as a Life Coach since 2006 and has recently opened an office in Arlington so she can better serve in that capacity. In the theme of Women’s History Month, Reverend Ellis is yet another example of a woman who has taken the reins of her own life and forged ahead to achieve her personal goals and purposes. And has found the ways and means to accomplish what she feels is her mission in life.“My mission is to ignite, encourage, and illuminate authenticity for myself and others.” Though she comes from a life of hardships and abuse, as many women do, she, through faith and determination has broken through the other side with the gifts of love, healing, compassion, and personal growth coupled with the desire and the willingness to give.“This is what being a Life Coach is about, this is what being a Minister is about, at least for me. Putting myself and what I have and what I know into action to help other people. That’s what I want to do. This is why I am here.” And indeed that is what she does. Not only in her service as a Minister and a Life Coach, but also as a women and an example to other women. Your path is your own, and success, however you define it; is not beyond your reach.
